Billing

How billing works

When the first charge hits, how the £295 / £695 / £1,495 monthly cadence works, where VAT lands, and how to grab past invoices.

Last updated 10 June 2026

Plain English version of how the money side works. No surprises, no annual contracts.

The cadence

Standard is £295 per month. Professional is £695 per month. Sovereignty is £1,495 per month. All three are monthly recurring on Stripe; full breakdown on /pricing.

The first charge hits the day you sign up — the calendar timer starts the moment Stripe takes the first month’s charge. Day 30 from then, the second charge. And so on, monthly.

The first month covers onboarding and go-live. Most Standard sites go live within 7–14 days of signup; Professional within 14–21 days (Bookings + analytics setup takes a touch longer); Sovereignty is scoped per engagement (compliance prep adds time).

VAT

UK Web Marketing is VAT-registered (registration number on the legal page). All prices are quoted exclusive of VAT — the actual charge on your card is the headline plus 20% VAT (e.g. Standard £295 + 20% = £354 per month, Professional £695 + 20% = £834 per month, Sovereignty £1,495 + 20% = £1,794 per month).

VAT-registered customers reclaim the input VAT on the next return. Non-VAT-registered customers (most sole traders below the £90k threshold) absorb the VAT as a cost.

If you’re billing from outside the UK, VAT may not apply — reply to your invoice with your local VAT number and I’ll reissue. EU customers get reverse-charge VAT under EU place-of-supply rules.

Invoices

Every monthly charge generates a Stripe invoice automatically. Three ways to get to them:

  1. Email — Stripe emails the invoice PDF to your signup email each billing date.
  2. Client portal — open ukwebmarketing.com/portal, enter your email, click the login link. Every invoice ever issued is listed, downloadable as PDF.
  3. Annual summary — at year-end I email a single PDF summary covering all 12 months. Useful for the accountant.

Invoices include: UK Web Marketing’s VAT number, your company name as registered, the line items, VAT breakdown, total, and the Stripe payment reference.

Refunds

First 14 days are fully refundable under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 — message me and I refund the full month, no questions. After 14 days, cancel any time and you stop being billed at the end of the paid month (no pro-rata refund for partial months — that’s the only catch).

What’s the actual maths?

Standard £295/mo × 12 = £3,540 a year for managed web infrastructure + EU-sovereign hosting + 2 content updates/mo. Professional £695/mo × 12 = £8,340 a year, adds TWHQ Bookings + weekly updates + 1× CTO advisory hour/mo. Sovereignty £1,495/mo × 12 = £17,940 a year, adds compliance prep (DSPT/Cyber Essentials Plus/DPIA) + 4× CTO advisory hours/mo. Annual prepay (2 months free) is £2,950 / £6,950 / £14,950 respectively. Compare what you’re paying now.
